GATE 2015

Graduate Aptitude Test in engineering in short (GATE) is an all India tests to select candidates for various undergraduate subjects in

engineering and technology. GATE is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) National Coordination Board-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India
aspirants who have completed their Bachelor degree in Engineering / Technology/ Architecture / Pharmacy or Master degree in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications are eligible for Master / Doctoral programmes in Engineering/ Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science can apply on GATE to complete their PG in relative streams.

Details of GATE 2015:

Examination for all 22 papers will be conducted by an ONLINE Computer Based Test (CBT). In this online examination paper will contain some questions for which numerical answers must be keyed in by the candidate using the virtual keypad.

Biometric information (Photograph and Fingerprints) for randomly selected candidates may be captured before the start of the exam

GATE 2015 examinations will be held during 1st meeting and 2nd meeting on alternate weekends (Saturday and Sunday) between January 31, 2015 and February 14, 2015.

Examination for some of the papers in GATE 2015 will be held in multiple sessions. Exact details regarding complete examination schedule will be notified at a later date.

Application Fees: 

The application fee is Rs.1500/- for General/OBC male candidates.

The application fee is Rs.750/- for female candidates and also for the SC/ST/PwD category candidates

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates are required to have the following eligibility criteria for the relative streams.

For the B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharma candidates should have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture /Pharmacy (Post-Diploma /Post B.Sc/4 years after 10+2 / Post B.Sc / Post-Diploma) to apply.

For M.Sc/M.A./MCA candidates should have bachelor degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics / Statistics/Computer applications or equivalent

Int M.E./M.Tech or Dual Degree (after 10+2 or Diploma) candidates must have Integrated Master’s degree programs or dual degree programs in Engineering/Technology (five year programme)

Int M.E./M.Tech (Post B.Sc) candidates must have Post-B.Sc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering/ Technology (four year programme)

Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch) candidates should have B.E./B.Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India).

How to apply?

Candidates can visit the official website and get registered the Fill the GATE application form online.

Then make the payment through the proper channels.

Then upload the scanned signature and passport size photograph.

Then click on the submit button and take the hard copy of application forms.

Important dates:

Applications will be invited from 1st Sept 2014.

The last date of application submission is 14th Oct 2014.

Last Date for Request for Change in the Choice of City is 21st Nov 2014.

Admit cards can be downloaded from 17th Dec 2014.

Result will be announced on the 12th March 2015.
